Prof. Thilo Stehle

Thilo Stehle is a Professor in Biochemistry at the Interfaculty Institute of Biochemistry (IFIB) of the University of Tübingen, and he also serves as the Vice Dean of Research of the Faculty of Science at his university. His research interests are focused on structural and functional analyses of host-pathogen interactions, including interactions of viruses and bacteria with the host cell. The group uses modern structural biology techniques to describe three-dimensional structures of viral and bacterial proteins. A long-range goal of this work is to identify strategies that can interfere with the host attachment properties of these proteins.

The laboratory is located at the Science Campus of the University of Tübingen and includes state of the art equipment that enables structural biology as well as the biophysical and biochemical characterization of proteins and their interactions with ligands.
