Theis Jacobsen

Theis Jacobsen is a Danish PhD student (ESR13) employed at Institut Pasteur in Paris. The project is supervised by Michael Nilges, Nadia Izadi-Pruneyre and Benjamin Bardiaux in the laboratory of the Structural Bioinformatics unit at Institut Pasteur. Theis holds a Master’s degree in biochemistry with specialisation in protein chemistry from University of Copenhagen.

The aim of the project is to determine the structure of minor pilins from the type IV pili and their incorporation into the pilus. The traditional structural methods are not sufficient to answer these questions. Therefore, an integrative approach will be employed to study the minor pilins, where different structural methods will be used (e.g. NMR, Cryo-EM/ET and molecular modeling).
